Classic Wings is a family-run business which has been operating at the Imperial War Museum Duxford since 1992. We restore and maintain our own classic aircraft with dedicated attention to detail and pride ourselves on offering a friendly and personal service to our customers.
Flying Experiences includes the following:
1. Tiger Moth Flights
Imagine yourself in the first years of aviation and the thrill of a wartime fighter pilot taking his first training flight in this nostalgic aircraft.
2. Dragon Rapide Flights
A nostalgic sightseeing flight in the elegant Dragon Rapide, one of Britain’s best loved pre-war aircraft.
Ours are two of the very few left flying and are completely restored to comply with modern regulations - the last word in civilised sightseeing! Each of the eight seats on board has a window so is perfect for viewing the landscape below.
3. Warbird FLights
A flight in the T6 Harvard is a truly unique experience as the opportunity for a flight in a warbird such as this is very rare.
A real adrenaline rush for the pilot or non pilot alike – this powerfule and exciting aircraft was used to train pilots converting onto the legendary Spitfire, and is definitely the next best experience to actually flying a Spitfire.
4. Aerobatic Flights
Take to the air for an adrenaline fuelled flight to experience the thrill of high level aerobatics in our high performance Extra 200 aircraft.
Your fully qualified instructor will demonstrate a range of aerobatic manoeuvres then give you the chance to take the controls - imagine putting the aircraft through its paces and performing a loop or roll yourself. The flight can be as mild or as wild as you wish, it is up to you.
5. Flying Lessons
This flight makes a wonderful gift for the first-time pilot or just someone who's dreamed of flying a light aircraft.
6. De Havilland Double : Fly in both the Rapide and Tiger Moth
A rare opportunity to fly in both these beautiful De Havilland vintage aircraft from a bygone era of aviation. First enjoy a sightseeing flight over Cambridge and Madingly in the Dragon Rapide, then soar through the skies in the open cockpit classic British biplane, the Tiger Moth where you will have the chance to take the controls yourself. Two flights from the golden age of flying.
7. Flights for Groups
Our Dragon Rapide is available for hire to groups or families who wish to charter the whole aircraft.
