Description of Ground Zero

Licence Nº not provided

Ground Zero is the next generation in airsofting - combining everything you love about skirmishing and Military Simulation into action-packed non-stop gaming days with new scenarios at every event so you'll never know what to expect!

We don't do quick, half-hour games that repeat every week, but we combine what we love about airsoft into what we do to make it special for everyone involved. We'll throw out new scenarios every week that can roll for hours, with sub-plots being added to make it that little bit more realistic. Everyone is welcome to contribute to our site, it's what makes it so special and enjoyable, and its because of this we're a national leader in this new generation of airsofting.

Ground Zero Woodland

What to Expect

Our site has plenty of flat and clean car-parking space, in an easy-to-access area. We have clean, on-site toilet facilities for both male and female players. We've also got fresh, running water. You can keep your kit at your car, and go to your car whenever you want, so don't worry about having to carry kit all over the place.

Our hut is situated within the car park where you register to play, hire any equipment you want and the on-site shop can be found there as well, selling bb's, gas, mags, face protection & loads of cool kit.

We also offer snacks, drinks & hot food to keep your appetite at bay during the day. From Coke & Fanta, Pot Noodles, Crisps & Chocolate to Curry or Chilli with Rice, Sausage Hot Pot, Stew, and even Spag Bol.

A breifing is always given in the car park / entrance to playing area, where you will be told the days missions, get sorted out into teams and elect your team leaders.

We do our best to make each day at Ground Zero different and full of action. We certainly don't repeat our scenarios week after week and so you won't know what to expect. The scenarios are usually intense and non-stop throughout the day leaving you open to play as you want to, be it sitting in ambush in a bush or attacking the enemy's main base. We don't tie you down to certain areas either, so you're free to roam the whole site as you wish.

Areas of the site include a Vietnam-style village, hill-top command post, bridge, pond, prison camp, fire bunker, sniper hide, watch tower, a rubbish dump and plenty of small weaving tunnels throughout the site. We also have a large portion of land that is simply a huge tunnel system, so if you like intense CQB, these are just what you want! Oh, and did we mention a massive bunker system?...

Ground Zero Urban

GZU forms part of what was Sopley RAF Base, built at the begining of World War 2 to monitor and control coastal radar against foreign attacks. Sopley was operational 24 hours a day, every day, with a three watch system of staffing.

The 100ft deep underground tunnels are still in operation today, being used by the government to transfer and sort magnetic media to digital media. This project is named 'Iron Mountain', and rumor has it there are still underground tunnels beginning somewhere within Sopley camp, that lead to this underground facility.

Between 1979 - 1982 the camp was used as a reception and resettlement centre for Vietnamese refugees fleeing from the oppressive regime in their country.

The site is pretty easy to move around, and let's face it it'll be quite hard to get lost in a building.
