• Christmastime, mistletoe and ... Ski gear?

  So, Father Christmas was very kind to me this year and brought me several things I asked for in order to help me reach my goal of going on a ski trip this year .... :-)
  
  As well as a new iPod for when I do finally hit the slopes  (I got the green one!) my parents, aunts and uncles all clubbed together and gave me cash so I could get all the gear I needed for my upcoming trips.
  
  Here's what I have got so far:
  

  - I got some base layers after recommendation from my friend.
  
  - a couple of Regatta fleeces & t-shirts that were on offer in my local outlet/factory shop!

  - a pretty sturdy pair of gloves
  
  - LOTS of socks!  (My brother actually got me some too!  Can never have too many!) 

  - Ski jacket - obviously this was the most costly purchase and it cleared out most of my Christmas fund, but luckily I got one that was quite an OK price.  In fact, there's loads of women's ski jackets on sale at the moment on Ellis Brigham which I have looked at a lot on boxing day!  I ended up getting a North Face one as I've heard they're the brand to go for.    I ended up getting this one which had about £40 knocked off it! 

  ....OK so now I just need a good pair of goggles and some sun cream and Im all set!!!!

  I've decided I'm not getting boots yet, as Im taking my friends advice and just sticking to renting boots for the first couple of days so I can get a feel for what I like, what fits and what I need.
  
  Aside from ski stuff I also got a few books off my mother-in-law and a nice bottle of champaigne off some aunts.
