Welcome to Country Craft Narrowboats
We offer narrowboat holidays from our base amid the award winning five locks at Llangynidr, an picturesque village, well known for the ancient and attractive bridge over the river Usk.
Don´t worry if you haven´t driven a narrowboat before, they are easy to handle and our location means we can give you good lock instructions and driving lessons. Whether you are a novice or not it is an excellent location to begin a holiday on one of our narrowboats, for a week's hire or a short break.
The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal is 37 miles long and has only six locks, and it runs from Brecon to Five Locks at Cwmbran. It is a quiet canal, never crowded, so we think you will find it a very relaxing location. It is situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park and is one of the most beautiful canals in the country. You will pass plenty of pretty towns and villages along the way, and activities that you will find not far from the canal include pony trekking, fishing, golf, sailing climbing, fishing and sailing.

Directions to Country Craft Narrowboats By Rail Nearest train station is Abergavenny where taxis to the base at Llangynidr are available. By Road From Brecon take the A40 towards Abergavenny, just after Bwlch turn right onto the B4560 towards Llangynidr. Proceed over the river bridge then at the T junction turn right onto the B4558 signposted to Talybont on Usk. Continue on this road passing the ‘Coach & Horses’ on the left, over the canal following the road to the left. Take the next turn left into a small, uphill lane and immediately on your left is the entrance to Country Craft Narrowboats. From Abergavenny take the A40 towards Brecon, through Crickhowell and approximately 5 miles out of Crickhowell turn left onto the B4560 towards Llangynidr. Proceed over the river bridge then at the T junction turn right onto the B4558 signposted to Talybont on Usk. Continue on this road passing the ‘Coach & Horses’ on the left, over the canal following the road to the left. Take the next turn left into a small, uphill lane and immediately on your left is the entrance to Country Craft Narrowboats. If you go over the canal bridge you have gone too far.
