Description of Maximum Adventure Sports UK Canoeing
Licence Nº not provided- Quickstart (3hrs): For those who are impatient and want to start NOW! It is an entry level program for beginners with little free-time. We will show you how to paddle comfortably, turn and stop.
- Private Instruction (2hrs): You will learn even more with a one-to-one lesson with an expert instructor. We will come to you with our boats and equipment if the type of water and location is convenient. We can also plan the lesson according to what you are looking to learn – everything is up to you!
- Introduction to Canoeing (7hrs): This is a comprehensive, full-day course designed to introduce you to all different kinds of canoes. You will practice carrying boats, fitting a boat to you, launching and landing. You will also try controlled capsizes! At the end of the day we will hit the open water in order to demonstrate all the skills we have learned. This course is a springing board to many other canoeing opportunities.
- Beyond the Basics (3hrs): This course is designed to practice your strokes. It is taught on open water and in more extreme conditions. You will have to focus more on boat control and stability. You will also learn some important canoeing strategies to help you understand the effects of the wind and waves upon the canoe.
