Llanberis Guides is headed up by international mountain guides Ric Potter and Libby Peter, who take pride in providing quality and flexibility with a friendly approach. All the guides and instructors working with Llanberis Guides have the highest professional qualifications, however, first and foremost they are keen climbers themselves so we are confident you'll be appreciative of their depth of experience and local knowledge combined with a relaxed and personable approach.

Our ethos is one of professional guiding without losing the amateur spirit for adventure, and our attention to safety will not detract from sharing our passion for climbing with you.

Learn To Rock Climb
Learning to rock climb in Snowdonia and North Wales is ideal and we offer private rock climbing courses in Wales for beginners. Tailor made tuition and a high level of safety means you will be in the best possible hands.

Llanberis is a great place to be based if you want to be in the middle of all the best places to try out rock climbing for the first time. Within a short distance there are many crags and many types of rock to climb on.

Guided Classic climbs
Why not come rock climbing in Wales and be guided on some of the great Welsh Rock climbs? For many people guiding offers a great solution if you want to climb great routes but you have limited time.

The guide will lead all the climbs and select the best of Welsh climbing to suit your style of climbing and your ability. We can also cater for "dream fulfillment"! If there's a climb that you have always wanted to do then let us know and we will try and make it happen.

We can cater for all ages and abilities, and we roughly divide routes into three categories: classic rock is anything from tricky scrambling to easier rock climbing; intermediate would be anything from the HS to HVS grades; and hard rock would be anything of HVS and above. So hopefully we ca offer something for everyone!

Technical Training for Climbing
We can provide any level of technical training for climbers, from making bombproof belays to recue sysytems to big wall climbing techniques.

The most popular thing we offer is improvised rescue or self rescue, where you can learn how to solve on-crag problems such as lowering an injured climber, or hauling someone up to safety, or simply how to get out of the system so you can go and get help.

Alpine Mountaineering
We can offer UK based training in Alpine techniques and Alpine guiding overseas in mountaineering, ski mountaineering and off piste skiing.

If you are looking for new skills to take your experience further afield or simply a guided experience in the Alps, we should be able to help.
