Welcome to Newcastle Climbing Centre – the premier indoor climbing venue for Tyneside and the North East and one of the best indoor climbing venues in the U.K.

Climbing is a unique and dynamic sport and delivers exciting rewards both physically and mentally, if you are just starting out or already committed the Newcastle Climbing Centre will offer the ultimate experience.

Situated in the former church of St Marks the listed building provides a spectacular climbing environment with an internal height of 15 metres and over 1200 square metres of climbing walls for roped climbing and bouldering. Whatever your standard of climbing either novice or expert there are features and challenges to suit your ability and your ambition.

The Newcastle Climbing Centre welcomes everyone whether you are a novice who wants to gain experience and develop skills or a dedicated rock athlete looking to push your limits. We provide an environment that caters for all abilities and offers the best indoor climbing experience.

No climbing experience?
We offer a range of introductory courses from a one hour, “taster” session to a complete indoor climbing course where you will learn all you need to safely make the best use of the climbing walls. All courses are with a qualified instructor and all equipment will be provided.

General Facilities
The Newcastle Climbing Centre has been designed and built to the highest standards and we provide excellent facilities for visitors including fully equipped changing rooms and showers, disabled access, meetings room and a comfortably spacious viewing gallery. The on site gear shop is the best in the region offering specialist advice and equipment from all the leading brands including DMM, Wildcountry, Black Diamond, Petzl, Edelrid and Moon. Our friendly cafe and chillout area is open to all whether taking a break from the climbing or waiting for friends and family.
