Welcome to The International School of Mountaineering
We are an organisation based in Caernarfon, passionate about mountaineering, and sharing skills and experiences on this exhilarating sport.
We have been operating since 1965, running high quality alpine mountaineering courses, as well as summer treks across the Alps, ski tours and off-piste skiing courses in spring, and ice climbing in the winter.
We welcome complete beginners as well as the more experienced, and we tailor all of our courses to your personal needs. We will provide you with excellent quality training to ensure that you develop into a competent and confident mountaineer, with all of the skills you need to enjoy this exhilarating sport safely.
Our team is made up of internationally accredited IFMGA Mountain Guides and Aspirant Guides, who are all well experienced and have a passion for the sport. We have trained a huge number of people, and have an excellent safety record.
