Phoenix Divers Sunderland, prides itself on the highest standards of Instruction due to the low student to Instructor ratios. We aim to have no more than 4 students per instructor on a course at one time. This provides more one to one time with the Instructor both in the pool and during theory sessions.
Also with access to several pools a week we have more flexibility to run courses around your lifestyle unlike other centres who run courses on a basis of one night a week for 5 weeks.
We also aim to complete all Open Water Dives in the sea, however there may be times when we have to use an inland site and if this is the case then as soon as possible after completing your Open Water dives we will provide free of charge an escorted shore dive to introduce you to sea diving conditions and the wonders that we have along our coastline.
Once certified, we offer multiple diving trips around the UK coast and also several diving holidays abroad, so don´t be confined to a pool or a quarry.

I have completed my PADI Advanced Open Water, Dry Suit and Nitrox Specialities with Phoenix Divers and still continue to pleasure dive with them on a regular basis at Sunderland and Eyemouth with future trips to Farnes etc. Also have just booked to join there trip on a Red Sea Liveaboard in October 2012. An informal dive club is organised via Facebook to arrange the various Dives, Courses and Holidays. It is run by John Webster who is very down to earth and teaches in a way that makes you relaxed with lots of fun and humour throughout. Nothing is too much hassle. One area where Phoenix Divers shine is Johns ability to work around you and your commitments/schedule be it work or family and is very flexible. I am about to start the EFR and Rescue Course very shortly which has been arranged around me due to me working away offshore. In the future I hope to achieve Padi Dive Master Certification which will be with John and Phoenix Divers.
