The Charles-Ann is a 350 hp turbocharged modern angling vessel, licensed to carry 12 persons up to 60 miles offshore and is fully equipped with electronics, radar, GPS, autopilot and colour sounder.
Capable of cruising at 16 knots, the boat is skippered by her owner, Harvey Groat, a Shapinsay resident with over 20 years experience in Orkney waters. Harvey is a member of the National Federation of Chartered Skippers.
We provide teas, coffees and biscuits on board and aim to make your cruise as enjoyable as possible as we hope you will come back again and again.
Services \ Facilities
Fishing Trips
Whether you are on Shapinsay or the mainland of Orkney or even another island, you can book a fishing trip with us. Pickup and drop off points can be arranged whether on Shapinsay or at Kirkwall pier. We welcome experienced or novice anglers, families and also company and corporate groups. Rods are available for hire and we also provide bait.
Island Trips
You don't have to fish. We offer sightseeing and diving trips around Orkney's many inhabited and uninhabited islands with their abundance of reefs, wrecks, seals and birds.
Fishing Holidays
Bed and Breakfast with optional evening meal can be arranged all year round in some of our local establishments on Shapinsay, including the choice to stay in the castle. Further details regarding accomodation, cost, etc. on application. Deposit requied to secure reservations.
