Licence Nº not providedThe Thames Estuary is a vast expanse of shoal and sandbanks holding a large variety of fish species including; Bass, Smooth Hound, Mackerel, Tope and Skate in summer months with Cod and Whiting etc in the winter months.
Often when south coast charter boats are in harbour due to strong winds Thames Estuary boats are still able to find sheltered fishing, thus often avoiding cancellations and costly wasted journeys. Most fishing is anchored ground fishing, Uptide/Downtide, and wrecking trips and Tope trips by special arrangement dependant on weather conditions.
We invested heavily in 2007 with the most luxurious charter boat on the east coast. With twin 300HP diesels for safety and top speeds of just under 30 knots, with cruising speeds of twenty knots twice the speed of most charter boats halving offshore trips & tope fishing trips steaming times, extending your angling day.
Anglers have the comfort of sheltered seating in the heated crew cab, on deck toilet facilities , this boat is also equipped with some of the most modern electronics available including colour fish finders forward looking sonar's, satellite navigation, colour radar overlay , and plotters, flat screen instructional TV in fact this superb boat wants for nothing. With plenty of comfortable fishing deck space, a walk around island wheel house ideal for keen uptiders. What more could the angler need!
This boat is also ideal for Wind farm work fast crew changes and shallow water surveys and has successfully completed work for companies such as Ham dredging, and Dong wind farms, also corporate entertainment, site seeing trips, and river cruises.
Tope Fishing Adventures for the Game & Sportfishing Angler
The Tope is one of the hardest fighting fish found in our waters of the Thames Estuary the premier area in the UK for this species and record holder of eighty two and a half pounds for this fish! With up to seventy pound not uncommon and fish to thirty-five pounds regularly caught, tackle and anglers are put to the ultimate test!
The fishing can be fast and furious and sometimes down right chaotic with runs and if your not careful break-ups from every side of the boat If you would like to sample our form of Big Game Fishing then June to Mid July is the best period with chances of a return fish in mid August. The cost is a little more than our regular fishing trips as distances to steam are much more with approximately fifty mile round trips.
Smoothounds & Lost Rods
Size for size the smooth hound is the hardest fighting fish in our waters and although it does not grow as big as the tope you will certainly know you have one hooked.
A member of the shark family there are two sub species the common and the starry smooth hound and the Thames estuary is one of the finest areas to have a crack at them holding the record of twenty eight pounds and going by resent seasons this will be beaten again from this area.
