    Abseiling regulatory body?

    What is the organisation that controls abseiling? Is there a specific one for abseiling or is it combined with climbing?

    In the UK there is no official governing body but abseiling is controlled by the following institutions:
    British Mountaineering Council, AALA is the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and the Mountain Leader Training UK. Many climbers are also good abseilers (as these activities often go hand in hand).
