Learn to Fly at Darlton Gliding Club...
If you have always thought of learning to fly, then gliding is an inexpensive way of achieving your ambition.
Anyone who has the coordination and skill to drive a car can fly a glider.

The minimum age to fly solo is 16 but this doesn't stop young people starting to learn earlier, but you must be able to reach the controls.

Depending on your aptitude and how regularly you fly you could be solo in under 3 months for only £650 by purchasing one of the Clubs fixed price to solo packages.

There are no special medical tests to become a glider pilot, you just need a medical certification form signed by your Doctor before you can go solo.

Many new members come to us via a trial lesson or one of the courses which the club offers throughout the year.

Trial Lessons at Darlton Gliding Club...
A trail lesson is the ideal introduction to gliding. An instructor will demonstrate the controls and allow you to fly the aircraft under supervision.

Arrive at the airfield on any weekend and wait at the Clubhouse until a member is available to deal with any enquires, do not walk onto the airfield or across the runway for your own safety.
