Kent Kitesurfing School is located in Whitstable, Kent, near to Canterbury and only 35 minutes from the M25 straight along the M2. This makes us the closest BKSA approved training centre to London and the South East.
We have a large teaching area maining we can choose the best place to teach you depending on the conditions.
The large natural bays of Whitstable and Tankerton have created an area of shallows perfect for teaching kitesurfing and also riding. Indeed some of the world's best riders come to Whitstable to train due to its flat water.
The training centre is located at Beach Walk in Whitstable in the same premises as Whitstable Windurfing. Each day you will meet at the shop and get kitted up and then chose the best location for teaching that day.
Our Lessons are run on a personal basis with day to day instruction and lessons created to cater for any individual needs. From Complete beginners to advanced lessons from some of the best UK professionals.
School Saftey
We take safety very seriously and although kitesurfing can be dangerous, when instructed properly there should be no danger to students. Please see below for the safety procedures we take.
- All of our instructors are fully qualified IKO or BKSA accredited instructors.
- For water based activities, a safety boat is available at all times.
- You will be provided with all the appropriate personal eqiupment.
- For water based activities this would include helmet, bouyancy aid, wetsuit, boots, harness and kites fitted with leashes.
- For land based acivities this would include helmet and kites fitted with "kite killers".
- All of our instructors are qualified power boat drivers and have current, accredited first aid certificates.
- Each instructor carries a first aid kit and sea to shore communications with them whilst teaching so they can get in touch with our shore base if necessary.
- All employees of Kent Kiteboarding School and the wider Group of companies regularly undergo "situtation" training.
- We teach on the right sized kites for you given the conditions - one size does NOT fit all.
- We are FULLY insured - including 3rd party.
