Based out of Lancashire, the majority of their activities are run in North West England. They offer as and when requested.

Welcome to Alternative Adventures Canoeing, where you can discover the beauty of canoeing in safe and qualified hands. Canoes, called Open or Canadian canoes, are stable and excellent boats to travel in water. They are a traditional form of transport used for centuries in Canada by natives, and are much more dependable than commonly thought.

Canoeing is great for groups and excursions, it´s suitable for almost anybody. Take one of their BCU Award courses and get certified, or just a taster session and see how you like the sport. They also offer white water sessions and various types of types.

At Alternative Adventures Kayaking, get out on the water and see the fun you can have in your own personal cover watercraft. Paddle and glide effortlessly over the water with a simple stroke of a paddle. Try a taster session, but you´ll be sure to want to stay for more!

Kayaking courses are offered for all levels. There is an introductory lesson or there are multiple levels of BCU Awards certification courses you can take. Even try a little bit of white water kayaking! This is a great activity for groups, especially school and youth groups, corporate days, even hen and stag dos! All equipment is provided, all top of the line and with safety in mind.

Welcome to Alternative Adventures Canyoning where you will have an extraordinary adventure filled day!

Canyoning, also known as Gorge or Stream Walking, is the sport that encompasses a bit of everything. Walk, scramble, climb, swim and jump, all necessary for this activity, and we can assure you that you will get wet at least a couple times! Located in the Moorland mountain streams, or for more extreme sessions, they can take you to the Lake District and North Wales so you´re always challenged.

This is an excellent group activity, you´ll have twice the fun while sharing the experience with others. Perfect for making events unique, Corporate Teambuilding, Hen and Stag dos and birthdays are all made fun with canyoning!

They offer qualification courses Mountain Leader Training Englans Summer Mountain Leader(SML), Walking Group Leader Award (WGL). Thease qualifactions are  for those interested in leader groups.
 Our tutor are holders of the SML, WML or MIA qualifactions. This is an absolutely brilliant activity for groups of all types. Almost anyone can go hiking and everyone is welcome! All activities are delivered by members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors AMI

They offer excellent choices for both options, and they will always ensure that you have a safe and thrilling climb. You can hire their mobile climbing wall and it can be taken to the location that you request; they bring the fun to you.

Our main area of opperations is at venues in Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside and all of our activities are delivered by members of the Asscoation of Mountaineering Instructors AMI.

We deliver the qualifaction courses from Mountain Leader Training England Climbing Wall Award (CWA) and the Single Pitch Award (SPA).

With courses offered from the Association of Mountaineering Instructors AMI, you will always get expert and professional instruction. They will give you the basics and prepare you to move on the bigger and better rocks, maybe even mountains! This is a great activity for groups, especially youth and school groups, corporate days, hen and stag dos or groups looking for adventure!

Welcome to Alternative Adventures Archery where you can have a try at the ancient sport of the bow and arrow, Robin Hood´s favourite! Having existed for almost as long as man, what used to be for defense or for catching dinner, is now an exciting leisure activity great for improving your aim and confidence.

Archery is a great individual or group sport. If played in teams, it´s brilliant for provoking some healthy competition while bring people together with a common interest. Safety and top of the line equipment is always a priority for them, and exactly for that reason, archery can only be permitted in their venues.  For an exciting adventure day, team archery with one of the other various adventure activities they offer and get a full day of fun!

Caving at Alternative Adventures Caving is the fabulous sport of discovering the secrets of what lies below our feet underground. Descend downwards using what is called the Single Rope Technique or a vertical ladder or a lifeline, and enter the horizontal maze in the beautiful limestone of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

They offer caving courses, which generally designed for people with some experience, although they are not difficult caves to explore. If a more advanced level of caving is desired, they can arrange excursions in more complicated locations. All equipment is provided. This is a perfect activity for groups, and their expeditions are sure to prove very interesting and highly entertaining.

At Alternative Adventures Mountain Biking, get active, outside and off roading and take advantage of nature. Take an exhilarating ride and get your cobwebs blown out and your adrenaline rushing. Mountain biking is an amazing way to enjoy the outdoors while taken control of the terrain. Your limits will only be the ones you make yourself!

Mountain biking involves mud, sweat, perseverance and occasionally some tears, but it´s always worth it. We at Alternative Adventures Mountain Biking have direct access to some great trails in the forests, along old railway tracks or country parks. We operate in the West Penning Moors, Rivington, Southern Pennines, Gisburn Forest along with other venues in Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside are our regular spots.
This is a great group activity as well, and they can cater to youth groups, corporate days or any other numerous group.

Welcome to Alternative Adventures Abseiling where you can try abseiling down all types of drops, from towers to ravines to quarries. Abseiling is an exhilarating sport which consists in lower oneself down a vertical drop with a rope, defying gravity and fear at the same time. Perfect to combine with rock climbing, once you´ve reached the top, abseiling down to continue the adrenaline rush!

Our main area of operation is Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside and on all of our abseiling and rock climbing event you will be supervised and instructed by Members of the Association on Mountaineering Instructors AMI.

Abseiling is great for those looking for an adventure sport and to get active and moving. All abseiling activities are supervised by the Association of Mountaineering Instructors AMI to ensure top safety at all times. They can organize and help arrange all type of charity events and adventure days. It´s a perfect activity to team up with one of their other offered sports for an all around thrilling day!

At Alternative Adventures Orienteering, enjoy an exciting game of navigation orienteering while enjoying the outdoors. The sport demands of the player multiple skills. Firstly, map reading and problem solving and secondly, endurance, because you need to be able to last throughout your search for the markers. The objective is to find all of the markers featured on the map, and if competing with others, faster than other participants.

Orienteering is great for a wide variety of ages and levels. They offer initial beginner lessons and then you can move onto a mini course. Participants will be give accreditation under the BSOA Explorer Challenge Award organization and optionally, they offer the Young Navigator Star Award from the National Navigation Award Scheme. All courses are delivered by British Orienteering qualified Coaches.
