Description of Ecosse Mountains Rock Climbing

Ecosse Mountains Rock Climbing during the warm seasons in Scotland is simply an experience of a lifetime. With such great scenery and most suitable climate for climbing Scotland is without a doubt one of the most popular destinations for rock climbers from all around the world. Ecosse Mountains offers rock climbing courses as well as scrambling.

For those who are not familiar with the terminology, scrambling is a cross breed between walking and climbing. It is physically challenging, but it is much easier to master than say lead climbing, which requires more training and practice. West coast scrambling is a 5-day course that initially focuses on the basic foundation of scrambling before allowing the students to test out their skills on the routes under the supervision of our fully trained instructors. Some of the foundation skills include route finding and navigation, which are both arguably the two most basic skills for any beginner scramblers to master. More difficult courses are Skye Cuillin Traverse, Intro Rock, Mountain Rock and The Old Man of Hoy.

Intro Rock is most suitable for those with competent indoor climbing skills who now wish to continue their passion for climbing outdoor. While Mountain Rock is designed for those with intermediate climbing skills looking for an opportunity to climb big mountains safely. The Old Man of Hoy will guarantee close contact with nature and a classic climb.

Please contact Ecosse Mountains Rock Climbing for more information regarding the activities!
