APEX is a full-time paragliding training school, based on the South Downs near Brighton, around an hour's drive from London. The Sussex area is one of the friendliest paragliding environments in the UK - the rounded, grassy hills and beautiful countryside lend themselves to paragliding, and range from gentle training slopes to 700-foot hills which allow spectacular height gains of thousands of feet to soaring pilots.

At Apex, we have 20 years experience of defying gravity, dating from the early days of this fantastic sport. We offer a friendly approach with small groups and low student-to-instructor ratios, working on both private and club sites. We are registered with the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association, and all Apex instructors are fully qualified BHPA Instructors or Senior Instructors; Gary Cook, the Chief Flying Instructor at Apex has worked in the sport for 20 years, serving on BHPA Training, Safety and Examining Committees. Courses run 7 days a week (weather permitting), and you can book to fit in with your own requirements.

Our Courses...

TASTERS: We offer tandem flights, single or two day tasters for those wishing to try out paragliding - these experiences also make an excellent gift idea - we offer vouchers for all of our courses. Tandem flights and taster days are also an excellent way to experience paragliding if you're thinking of taking it up but a little unsure of what to expect.

COURSES: As well as tasters and tandems, we offer the full BHPA Elementary Pilot (EP) Course, which covers the basics of paragliding and gets you up and flying solo in around 5 days (they don't have to be consecutive, and we do allow you extra days if needed).

After completing the EP course, you will move on to become qualified to Club Pilot (CP) level in order to fly without supervision and join a club. We offer several packages to get you there, either with or without equipment.
