The Surf School
We have taught people to surf from every walk of life, every ability and all fitness levels, not to mentions age variations.
But the common factor is fun. Yes, fun. You will learn to surf quicker and easier if you just relax and have fun!
We have a unique coaching technique that works. Literally thousands of people have learnt to stand up and ride a wave after a couple of lessons.
Lessons are in small groups so you can learn at your own pace and we get to spend lots of time with each person.
Westward Ho! has the European blue flag award for clean water and is patrolled by the RNLI lifeguards. The surf school operates from the Northam Burrows end of the beach, this is actually a country park with a golf course and lots of parking and picnic space.
The experienced surfers tend to head off to the more powerful waves of Croyde, Woolacombe and Newquay... brilliant.
This leaves us a really mellow uncrowded beach where we can surf as badly as we want! We don't have to worry about getting in the way of others, or worry about crashing into people. This is as good as it gets.
Courses and Lessons
All courses / lessons are suitable for complete beginners, and all the equipment is supplied.
Private Surf Lessons
You'll have your own Senior BSA coach working with you at your own pace and skill level. Lessons can be booked for any time to suit your schedule. Lessons are based on 2 hours of coaching time. Suitable for complete beginners to advanced. All equipment supplied.
