Surf South West
We are the first surf school in the UK to be awarded level 4 status by the British Surfing Association. This is the highest level attainable and is awarded in recognition that Surf South West has the highest standards of surfing coaching.
We have two surf schools operating on North Devon's beaches, our original beach side surf school at Croyde Bay and our Saunton Sands surf school just steps from the sand of Saunton beach. Only 45 minutes from the M5, our North Devon surfing beaches are the closest in the South West to London, the Midlands and the North of England. Our spectacular Atlantic coastline is renowned for excellent surf, bays of golden sand and breathtaking scenery. Both beaches enjoy a famed reputation for the consistency of the surf, warmed by the Gulf Stream.

Improving Surfing Skills and Technique
Surfing is one of those sports where it's very easy to reach a plateau where you feel stuck at a level and unable to make much progress. We find that certain surfing skills and surfing techniques cannot be learned through experience alone, everyone can benefit from additional surfingcoaching.
Having one of our Senior Instructors watch you surf can make a big difference. They will look for any bad surfing habits and work with you to overcome them. We find that certain surfing skills cannot be learned through experience alone and having a senior instructor demonstrate to you a technique can have a dramatic effect and produce quick results.
We always ensure we have enough instructors on hand to offer individual surf coaching within the group environment. If you feel you need more, we offer One to One surf lessons and coaching. Just you and a coach will travel to the beach with the best conditions for a complete assessment of your surfing ability and a chance to take your surfing to the next level.
With surfboards coming in all shapes and sizes, choosing the right surfing equipment can be a confusing issue. We have a range of boards to test and our instructors can offer you qualified advice on choosing the right gear.
