Details of Birdwatching hike on Handa Island
My father and I did this hike on Handa Island last weekend. As a big bird watching fan we took advantage of the different species of seabird that can be spotted on this scenic island, which is looked after by the Scottish Wildlife Trust. In order to get to the island you must take a small boat and you get onto the island through the Port of Tarbet.
The total distance of the hike is 7,24km but everyone will take longer (or less time) in completely the route depending on the stops they make and the birds they see. If one were to walk non-stop it would be approximately 5 hours.
This trail conveniently starts where it ends, so no need to worry about making it back!
