Whoosh Explore Canoe Club is a canoeing and kayaking adventure club based in Hertfordshire. We specialise in delivering canoe trails for groups, family paddling and white water training for families and offer expeditions to rivers in Wales. Whoosh explore is a unique outdoor adventure which is great for the whole family!

We offer canoes for daily and weekend hire with very competitative hire rates starting on the River Stort. We have a small fleet of 8 Canoes for you to plan your family and friends adventure.We can recommend some great places to paddle and know of some fantastic places to paddle with tours and trails organised on a wide range of Rivers in the East Anglia area.We can recommend some great river side camp sites ,cafes, pubs and resturants to break your journey and can even recommend a relaxing spa for a pamper orsome relaxation while the rest of the family paddle!

This month we have a wide range of paddling event paddling events on the river stort and Lea, The River Chelmer and weekly paddles in the Stort valley.We are also booking learn to roll clinics at Grange Paddocks for developing your  paddling skills.

We offer excellent training and tuition for everyone and have BCU 1 star and 2 Star courses planned for the coming year . We are an official Duke of Edinburgh Award Expeditions and BCU training centre so that you may obtain the appropriate canoeing  accreditation to become an expert paddler.

Packing for a hiking trip

What is the maximum weight that you should carry on your back when hiking? I´m sure it depends on the height and weight of the person and how long they are going away for, but more or less an idea?
