Welcome to Canoe Tamar
Our canoeing trips start at Cotehele Quay on the River Tamar, in Tavistock, Devon, a beautiful part of the country to explore on our scenic route. You will enjoy a relaxing journey past some of the most stunning scenery in England, past old quays and woodland, and farms and boatyards. You will also be able to spot local woldlife, including bird life, heron, water fowl and kingfisher, you might even see a salmon leaping, and seals and otters. Your trip will last about 3-3.5 hours, with time for a picnic or a riverside meadow.
We welcome everyone from the age of 3 and upwards, and there is no upper age limit, meaning we are a great choice for all the family. We welcome individuals and groups, and even well behaved dogs!
We have traditional style Canadian canoes, which are very easy to paddle so don´t worry if you are a complete beginner. They are large enough to take up to three adults and are safe and stable, and we think you will find they keep you dry and comfortable.
