In this trial lesson, a professional pilot will greet you at the Leeds Bradford Airport, where you'll start your lesson with introductory ground training of around 15 minutes. You'll practise in our helicopter simulator to get familiar with the main controls and the aircraft. Then, it will be time to fly!
You'll be on board our R44 aircraft, where your designated pilot will teach you flying techniques, such as climbing, descending, turns and autorotation. You will even get the chance to fly the aircraft yourself! We'll fly over the local area, enjoying sightseeing views of the Yorkshire Dales from afar. You'll have approximately 30 minutes of flying time!
You need to be at least 14 years old, and not weight more than 21 stone. There are 4 seats in the R44, so youn can bring a passenger or two (weight permitting). You'll be ppresented with a certificate at the end of the lesson.

Description of 60-Min R44 Helicopter Trial Flight (14+) in Leeds
Whether you want to pick up a a new hobby or just enjoy a unique adventure, we recommend this helicopter trial flight!Our HQ is Leeds Bradford Airport. A professional pilot will take charge of this experience, greeting you and going over the ground training. We boast a helicopter simulator which will let you get familiar with the main controls of the aircraft. You'll receive a pre-flight briefing which lasts around 10 - 15 minutes and then the pilot will begin the flight.
Enjoy the thrill of flying on board our Robinson R44 helicopter. It has 4 seats, so two passengers can join you. The flight will take you over the Yorkshire Dales, while the pilot introduces you to the basics of flight. You'll have one hour of flying, during which you will control the helicopter when possible!
Upon landing, our staff will give you a certificate of accomplishment to prove you took the challenge of flying a helicopter. The minimum age to participate is 14 years old, and the maximum weight for the pilot is 21 stone - we will need to know the weights of any passengers in advance.
