At 30 minutes long, it’s also a great choice for you if you’re short on time. But we don’t compromise on quality. There are a number of routes we can follow from our riding centre, all of which take us out into nature and give us stunning views of the Ceiriog Valley on the Welsh Borders.
We have some friendly ponies that children of just 4 years old can ride, alongside larger horses for adults. We’ll ask you to supply details of your height and weight before you come so that we can select the best horse for each rider.
Bring your own riding hat if you have one, or use one of ours. We need you to wear heeled shoes or boots, as well as suitable clothing for horse riding (for example, long trousers and sleeves).

What is it that makes you feel at home?For us, it’s beautiful scenery, fresh air and the companionship of horses. If that sounds good to you too, come with us on a 1-hour horseback trek?
Trekking isn’t a strenuous form of riding, so this excursion is suitable for beginners as well as experienced riders. We have horses to match many shapes and sizes, but not all. We will ask for your riding ability and your height and weight in advance of the ride.
Our location makes the enjoyment of riding even more intense. We set out from our centre located on a hillside and follow trails and bridleways over fields and ridges in the stunning Ceiriog Valley which separates Llangollen from Shropshire.
You’ll need to wear appropriate clothing for riding, bearing in mind that it can be chilly on the hilltops. You’ll also need a riding hat, which we can supply, and a pair of shoes or boots with heels.

Would you like to explore a stunning area on horseback?The border between England and Wales is a historic and natural boundary. We go riding in the Ceiriog Valley, where the land of the Welsh marches rises up above the lowlands of Shropshire, between Oswestry and Llangollen.
Come and explore this beautiful area on a 2-hour horseback trek. Although horse trekking is an accessible activity which is suitable for beginners, 2 hours is quite a long time to be in the saddle so we recommend these excursions to riders with some experience.
As well as your riding ability, we have to factor in your height and weight. This lets us choose an appropriate horse for you, so we’ll ask for your stats before the day of the ride.
You should also prepare yourself in advance to be on horseback for 2 hours in an exposed landscape. Clothing that covers our arms and legs and matches the weather forecast is essential, and you should wear a pair of heeled boots or shoes. We can provide a riding hat if you don’t have one.
