If you've never paddled before and are unsure whether you could manage a full day on the water, we recommend you book this trip first.
We take you to the put-in near the village of Eccleston. Once on the water you begin your journey downstream towards Chester. The route meanders through the tree lined meadows on the outskirts of the city, taking you past beautiful riverside properties, the Red House pub, under Chesters' famous suspension bridge and into the popular Groves area of the city. This is a journey of discovery that you won´t soon forget!

Description of Full Day Kayak Hire Chester
Head out for a scenic and relaxing paddle on the River Dee on one of our sit on top kayaks with Chester Kayak Hire. This paddle will take you from Farndon to Chester - 12 miles - Full Day (4 to 6 hours). Our kayaks can take 1 person - max weight 102kgs (16 stone)The trip starts at the historic Farndon to Holt bridge right on the England / Wales border. You'll paddle through the tranquility of serene pastures, miles from civilization. Maybe stop off for lunch at one of the sandy beaches on the river bank. You'll pass through a brief section of small easy rapids that'll spice things up a bit before continuing your journey along the tree lined river, through peaceful meadows. It's not unusual to be the only ones on this section of water - it's like having miles of countryside all to yourself.
Wildlife is in abundance so make sure you pack your camera! You'll pass right through the heart of the Duke of Westminsters' estate and under the famous blue ironbridge designed by Thomas Telford and built in 1824.
After 8 miles you'll reach the village of Eccleston
Paddle on towards to Chester and you'll reach the swanky Red House public house which has it's own jetty. The trip ends about a mile from the city centre at Sandy Lane jetty next to the sailing club.
