Description of Stand Up PaddleboardingDid you know Stand Up Paddle Boarding comes originally from Hawaii? Yes, but you don’t have to travel that far to practise it! On this sport, riders stand up on their boards and use a paddle to move forward through the water. In the past few years it has grown hugely and it is used for many different purposes: fitness, sightseeing, racing, yoga and even fishing.
Basic shore tuition is included in all the sessions and we supply wetsuits and bouyancy aid. Our facilities provide changing rooms with a safe place for your stuff. We also lend you waterproof watches to use while you are on the water. The activity lasts 1 hour minimum, but you could do 2 or 3 more hours, depending on your booking.
We run a very welcoming family business. Apart from paddle boarding, we also offer canoeing and kayaking and there is always a lifeguard looking after you all the time. We are located on Broadsands Beach, a small and strikingly beautiful cove in South Devon. Stand up Paddling is similar to surfing except the paddler uses a longer canoe type paddle to move through the water while standing on an large style surfboard. It's fun to do on anywater surface at all, not just in the ocean!
Stand Up Paddle Surfing isn't that hard to learn. To start with you will find standing up on the board and paddling will be the trickiest part. If you already surf then the wave riding part should be pretty familiar, except that you will be riding for longer and more often!
SUP's is for all outdoors or water sport fans looking for something different.
The sound of the oar into the water becomes repeated but unperturbed. The Poole Harbour seashore creates unique sound and views. The sunshine guide the SUP path and our instructors guide your look to what to do and when. The also give you freedom to experimented the chance of control the board.
The base is full of SUP taster days; give a look or a hand to one of it. Let us know the desires and selection of dream about SUP that you have.

Our group paddle boarding session in Dorset is a 3 hour excursion that will blow you away (not literally).
Bring your family or friends, we accommodate to groups of 6 or more.
Our certified paddle board instructors will meet you, most likely at our Sandbanks base, and provide you a wetsuit and buoyancy aid.
It is recommended participants bring:
- Something to wear on their feet (water shoes will do)
You will spend half a day, approximately 2-3 hours, learning the basics of paddle boarding. Gliding on the water and honestly getting a nice little arm workout in!
Our instructor will take you exploring and there will be opportunities to jump in the surf and have yourself a swim.
This private session requires a £100 deposit to book and you must be at least 8 years old to take part. You must also be a confident swimmer and open to jumping in the sea.
We offer a half day, approximately 2-3 hours, of paddle boarding lead by one of our highly qualified paddle instructors.
Come already in your swim swear and we'll provide you with a wetsuit to thrown on as well as a buoyancy aid.
What should paddle participants bring?
- Water shoes or something else to protect your feet
Bring your family or a small group of friends.
Don't worry if you have never tried stand up paddle boarding before... we work with all levels of experience!
Explore everything the coast has to offer while learning a new skill.
We run group classes specializing in teaching kids how to stand up paddle board. (Must be 8 years old or older).
Paddle participants must also be comfortable with swimming and getting in the sea.
We will all meet at our Sandbanks base where we will suit up the kids in wetsuits and buoyancy aids for extra safety measure.
Make sure they come with:
- Swimsuit on and ready to go
- Water shoes or other foot protectant
For half a day, about 2-3 hours, we will take the kids out on the water. Exploring everything the coastline has to offer.
Do not worry if your child had never paddle before we work with all levels of experience.
However, children are our fastest learners and we are confident they will leave this session paddle experts!
