Our Location
We are based on the south coast of Cornwall in Looe, a small fishing town. Looe has good options for accomodation, including campsites and B&Bs. offers many bars and restaurants for you to enjoy. There is also Looe Angling Club, situated close to the quay, for you to enjoy a drink with other anglers.
The Boat
Mystique II, 32' South Boats catamaran, has been built to the highest specification and to incorporate all of the latest technologies available in angling vessels. She can cruise at 16knts and reach a maximum speed of 24knts.
Her features include:
Onboard you will find a flushing toilet, television, stereo, kettle and microwave. She has a spacious deck and a covered seating area, and has been designed with comfort in mind.
The Skipper
Dave Bond is fully qualified and has a wealth of experience on the water. He has been a commercial fisherman since he was 17, and as well as holiding an offshore skipper´s licence he is also a member of the P.B.A. He aims to provide you with a fun and enjoyable day out.
Angling Services
Fishing
Thanks to Looe´s location and it´s proximity to the south west approaches, you will find an excellent choice of fishing here. Mystique II is well equipped for this and gives you the versatality you need for all types of fishing.
Short Trips
For a perfect for an introduction to fishing try one of our 2 hour mackerel or 4 hour bottom fishing trips. We can provide any equipment that you need.
Reef Fishing
Reef fishing gives you a longer trip out, generally from 9am til 5pm, and is suitable for any type of angler. The famous Eddystone, Hands Deeps and Brenton reefs are all a short distance from Looe, less than 45 minutes away. These trips include drift fishing, where you can hope to catch species such as pollock and ling, as well as anchoring where you can hope to catch larger species such as conger. Mackerel fishing can also be included on our the way to the reefs.
Sharking
This trip is usually an 8 hour day, with a 15 to 25 mile steam from Looe to reach the Gulf Stream. Once we reach our destination, we will lay a chum trail and then spend the day fishing for mackerel whilst we wait for the blue shark to pick up the scent. Patience is required! But this will give you the chance to fish and relax until the sharks arrive. We will provide all equipment, and parties are welcome.
Wrecking
For the more experienced angler we off wreck fishing trips. There are many wrecks around Looe, many of which are still barely fished. With an unsurpassed catch of cod, ling, conger and pollack, Mystique II is the best wreck fishing vessel in Looe. Please note that the duration of these trips are dependent on the weather.
