Why do people take a dog Clay Pigeon Shooting, or if they don´t take it, why does it always appear in the classic photo for the sport?

haha you don´t need a dog for clay pigeon shooting! You must be seeing photos for hunting or pigeon shooting as the dog are used to retrieve the birds (or rabbits or whatever game they are out for) once shot, so obviously in Clay pigeon shooting they are not very sought after.
