Gliding in Dumfries and Galloway

Welcome to Dumfries and District Gliding Club! We are small and friendly gliding club full of gliding enthusiasts. Our airfield is on Plascow Rig (ridge) and is just less than five miles from the Solway Firth. We fly as many weekends as we can, weather permitting of course, and our location has some great gliding conditions, with good thermal and wave conditions. During the spring and summer months, we also try to fly during the week. We welcome complete beginners, and if you would like to try gliding for the first time join us for one of our 15 minute trial lessons with one of our trained and experienced instructors. If once you have completed your flight you would like to continue gliding you can book more flights with the club. If your kid would like to learn this air sport and have a new hobby, we can make that a reality! Our offer about Junior gliding, for members from four years old! This is a great option for those parents who would like to pass their knowledge to their youngsters!  We also cater Corporate events, Birthday parties and large groups!
