Gliding in Herefordshire

Welcome to Herefordshire Gliding Club! We are based at Shobdon Airfield in Herefordshire, a fantastic place to enjoy gliding, with beautiful scenery and views to enjoy. Our hard surface runway means we can fly every weekend of the year, weather permitting of course.We welcome complete novices, and our two-seater training gliders and professional and qualified instructors enable you to make quick progress. You need to be a minimum age of 16 to fly solo, but there are no other age restrictions. We have lots going on at the club for you to get involved with, including inter-club competitions, social functions, course weeks, club task weeks, and visiting club weeks for you to come along and get involved in. Choose from our offers and come gliding!; Learn to fly: Firstly, you will take, maybe, 35 to 45 instructional flights, ending them with flying solo sessions.  Juniors (students under 25 years): Our aim is to encourage young people, through fun sessions and training, into the air sport.  Group booking: The ideal option for large events or corporate activities.  Visiting pilots: We provide our premises for competitions and for experienced pilots to practice.  We also provide Gift vouchers, trial lessons vouchers, for you to feel for the first time the thrill of flying.  If you are interested just contact Herefordshire Gliding Club for further details.  (Gliding Club Herefordshire)
