Kayaking, similar to canoeing, involves a single or double-seated boat with an open or closed deck. The boat is steered using a double-bladed paddle, which is why kayaking is also considered a paddle sport. If you are new to kayaking don´t worry, the terminology will become more familiar after visiting Adrenaline Buzz Kayaking. We strive to introduce theory in our practical lessons.

There are six primary classifications of kayaks:

• pool
• slalom
• whitewater
• surf
• touring
• day tripping

The kayak you will be using depends on your ability and location; a pool kayak is designed for use in a swimming pool obviously.

An experienced kayaker will be more familiar with slalom kayaks, which are designed to paddle obstacle courses. This type of kayaking introduces its competitive edge. Adrenaline Buzz Kayaking caters for all ages and abilities, and you are welcome to request further information regarding availability, prices, etc. 

At Adrenaline Buzz Rafting we use inflatable boats, which are considered the modern-day raft. They are very durable in spite of their appearance! For those who are not familiar with rafting, also known as white water rafting, it is a challenging adventure sport and one of the best. You have to navigate your boat safely down a river of white water that includes many obstacles.

We are located in Cardiff, Wales, which is home to many different graded white water rivers. As a beginner we will start with grade 1 – 3 routes that introduce rough areas and require slight maneuvering. For the more experienced rafters, there are grade 5 routes that include large waves, lots of water and rock hazards. Your skill will be tested to the limit!

If you are interested in learning proper rafting techniques such as re-righting your boat, Adrenaline Buzz Rafting is for you! We provide fully-qualified and experienced instructors that are passionate about rafting and teaching you how to master the sport too.

Adrenaline Buzz Climbing enables you to experience a truly exhilarating adventure sport. We are located in Cardiff, Wales, which is home to some exceptional rock climbing situations. We will adapt each climb to suit your abilities, and with our progressive teaching you will be able to track your improvement step by step.

The goal in rock climbing is to reach the summit and once you have achieved it nothing will compare with your personal feeling of satisfaction. Climbing is a physical sport and we recommend that if you wish to take it seriously you will need agility, balance, endurance and strength. These skills can also be developed as you progress and learn proper climbing techniques.

Adrenaline Buzz Climbing supplies specialised climbing equipment adapted to suit the rock faces we tend to climb. You will be briefed about the importance of the equipment on the day and you will not be charged more for the use of our materials. There are no hidden costs! Caving, also known as pot-holing, is a recreational sport that can be heart-stopping. It involves exploring cave systems that have been declared safe to climb around. No scientific or previous caving experience is required.

At Adrenaline Buzz Caving we select the caves to explore according to your caving experience. We believe it is important to take into account each student´s ability in order to structure a progressive teaching plan. Some of the challenges caving offers include:

• pitches
• squeezes
• water

Your safety is our number one priority and before the fun starts we will brief you on the potential dangers and how you should follow the instructions of your guide at all times, as well as wearing a safety helmet and protective overalls.

Adrenaline Buzz Abseiling is designed to teach you how to control your descent down a cliff face using rope. This technique is necessary when the cliff face or slope is too dangerous to descend without protection.

We have the latest equipment including:

• low-stretch climbing rope
• descender device that includes braking bars
• climbing harness secured around the waist of the climber
• Bachmann knot as a safety back-up
• helmet
• gloves

Abseiling is an adventure sport in its own right. You may also use abseiling in other adventure sports such as canyoning.

Adrenaline Buzz Orienteering requires great navigational skills; you will learn how to read a map and use a compass, something many people do not know how to do properly! The aim of orienteering is to find control-points that will lead you home.

It originates from a military training exercise and is a popular recreational activity today. Furthermore, you are racing against the clock and other teams. You must strive to find the control-points first!
