Open canoeing is a great way to travel and explore the waterways of the UK with Adventure River. They are surprisingly agile when paddling with technique, however the traditional techniques of the canoe have been learnt over thousands of years and cannot be self-taught. Adventure River can help you out, with some great courses. Adventure River have excellent instructors and a fantastic location to enjoy the river. We also provide very competitive private courses midweek, and are available for corporate events as well.

• Introduction to canoeing - Learn how to paddle both on your own and with a friend, as well as some other basic skills.
• Introduction to White Water Canoeing - With no previous skill needed, learn how to navigate your canoe on moving water.
• Foundation in Canoeing - Give you a great way to get more in depth with this great sport.
• British Canoe Union (BCU) Foundation Safety and Rescue Course -Learn how to perform rescues on flat water. You will need a BCU 2 star qualification to do this course.
• BCU1 Star Award - Awarded to people who are able to show basic boat control and skills.
• BCU2 Star Award- Improve on your previous skills and learn some new things.
• BCU3 Star Award - Over three days you will demonstrate more advanced skills.

Kayaking is ever popular, and this is where it all started for Adventure River- the owner, Will, started kayaking just after learning to walk and has never looked back, kayaking some of the biggest and best white water around the world, working as an instructor, safety boater and raft guide. The level of tuition and enthusiasm taken from our courses is second to none. Courses on offer include;

• Introduction to kayaking - A great taster course to let you get a feel of this great sport. This course takes place over only one day.
• Introduction to white water kayaking - Learn how to navigate your kayak on moving water, and learn some new skills as well.
• Foundation in Kayaking - Gives you a great way to get more in depth with this great sport.
• Young Kayakers Summer Program - Over one day a week for four weeks, kids play games, learn kayaking skills and have fun with children of a similar age.
• British Canoe Union (BCU) Foundation Safety and Rescue Course -Learn how to perform rescues on flat water. You will need a BCU 2 star qualification to do this course.
• BCU1 Star Award - Awarded to people who are able to show basic boat control and skills.
• BCU2 Star Award- Improve on your previous skills and learn some new things.
• BCU3 Star Award White Water Kayak - Over three days you will demonstrate more advanced skills.
• Nepal Himalaya Kayak School - Visit Nepal and learn how to kayak at the same time in the white water rivers of Nepal.
