I cannot believe I lived in Bawtry for 10 years and I have never been to Bawtry Paint ball fields (bpf). It has been voted the number 1 paint ball venue in Britain for the last five years. I booked on the Friday which was incredibly easy and despite a busy day they were happy to accommodate an extra five people despite already having two full teams for the Sunday. I thought that a half day paint balling (6 full games) would be a lot more expensive than it was but it was only £20 pounds each and ran from 9 in the morning till 12:30. We got there with minimal fuss the park is not difficult to find and you can sense the anticipation as you pull up to the giant wooden fort. You have to fill out a disclaimer when you get there (which didn't help my nerves) however it is clear as soon as you get there that BPF takes safety extremely seriously. The pricing seemed fair once your at the fields as well, with 200 starting paint balls, that can last you the whole day if your frugal, or £7 for 100 extra paint balls. A great feature that BPF has is that it allows you to purchase SMOKE GRENADES! which you are able to throw your self they cost £4 for one or 3 for £9. After a brief health and safety warning where you meet your team you put your masks on, pick up your gun and head off to the first arena. The arenas are extremely inventive and every game we played had a new twist. One of the best features about BPF is the constant lingering threat of the Predator, signalled at the start of the game by two whistle blows he stalks onto the arena in full movie quality costume with two high powered paint ball guns. If you move he shoots you and believe me his guns are very high powered which adds to the hero points for those who dare to shoot him. The marshall's who take the teams out and run the games were extremely helpful and made the rules of the game clear and were very clear about the rules on health and safety. After the games if you get a full day which is £40 they provide you with lunch and there are free drinks and facilities on site in case the games get to much. After the day has ended you can count your bruises (29) and then judge how well your team faired. My advice is get stuck in and charge in over and over again your games will be short but you will have the best bruises by far, and you wont feel your bruises until the end anyway. Team work is definitely the best way to win but when the whistle is blown all chaos descends. Overall Bawtry Paint ball Fields is an excellent day out, honestly if you have a group of mates for a party or a stag-do this is the place to go, you will definitely leave with a big smile on your face. Great Value for money, Great day out and a Great set of stories to tell people as you show them your bruises. The facilities and the staff are excellent and the whole experience is phenomenal. 10/10
