Northcol Adventure Orienteering specialises in Orienteering sessions in the North West of England. Orienteering is a fun yet complex sport that finds its roots in Scandinavia at the beginning of the 20th century. It has since grown in popularity and, today, it is one of most engaging activities around. Participants need to use various skills in order to follow the route, which is only marked on a map.
This is a sport which challenges a person physically, mentally and intellectually. There are also different varieties, ranging from MTB to ski orienteering. Before embarking on an orienteering adventure, one must be aware of the crucial equipment without which the activity cannot take place: the orienteering map, the compass and special clothing and shoes adapted specifically for this sport.
