Description of St Denys Sailing and Rowing Club

Enjoy a wide variety of water sports such as sailing, rowing and canoeing on the River Itchen in Southampton with St Denys Sailing and Rowing Club. The club was founded back in 1899 and it is located next to Cobden Bridge in Southampton. Ever since its inception, it has sought to provide easy access to boats for everyone.

We have a wide variety of modern vessels including canoes (1 or 2-seaters, Canadian and kayaks), rowing skiffs, rowing boats, various sailing boats, which are at the club members' disposal at any time of the year. The boathouse can be found near Cobden Bridge, on the River Itchen. This provides quick and effortless access to the river and, by extension to the sea. Beginners too are more than welcome to a place where they can learn many things about the world of sailing. 

At St Denys Sailing and Rowing Club, we value your time and we wish to provide with both a quality experience at the club, as well as enabling you to spend time together with your family. As a result, children under 18 can join any boating activity free of charge as long as their parents are members of the club. You will spend a great time together, enjoy the scenery and the water while doing exercise at your own pace.

Description of St Denys Sailing and Rowing Club Kayaking

St Denys Sailing and Rowing Club was founded all the way back in the 19th century, in 1899. The original objective was to make boating activities accessible for everyone and to encourage young people to exercise and achieving this has been our aim ever since. Among other sports, we also do Kayaking, one of the oldest and most popular water activities.

As a member of St Denys Sailing and Rowing Club, members have access to 18 kayaks and canoes. From single and double general and tourers to single recreational kayaks for children, we have vessels suitable for all ages and skill levels that are available to our club members all year round.

Our facilities, including the boathouse, can be found near Cobden Bridge, on the River Itchen in Southampton. This provides quick and effortless access to the river and the sea. Beginners too are more than welcome to a place where they can learn many things about the world of sailing in the company of more experienced sailors.

At St Denys Sailing and Rowing Club, we know how important time is and this is why we strive to offer both a quality experience at the club, as well as enabling you to spend time together with your family. As a result, children under 18 can join any boating activity free of charge as long as their parents are members of the club. Description of St Denys Sailing and Rowing Club Sailing

Experience a broad variety of sailing activities on the River Itchen in Southampton with St Denys Sailing and Rowing Club Sailing. The club was founded back in 1899 and it is located next to Cobden Bridge. Ever since its foundation, it has begun a journey to provide easy access to boats for everyone.

Our sailing fleet consists of a Laser, a Pico, Mirrors, Family 14,  a Drascombe Lugger and Coaster and a Sailfish 18 sailing cruiser. This is a wide range of modern sailboats that are suitable for all age groups and experience levels. The boathouse can be found near Cobden Bridge, thus providing quick and effortless access to the river and, by extension to the sea. 

Club members have unlimited access to the vessels all year round. They can enjoy a refreshing and relaxing experience while sailing on the nearby waters at their own pace. In addition, we organise various events every year that take us as far as Hamble, Poole Harbour or Chichester Harbour. Children under 18 benefit from their parents' membership too. They will have access to all the boating activities free of charge because, at St Denys Sailing and Rowing Club Sailing, we know how important it is to spend time with your family.
