This dramatic part of the UK boasts a number of fast-flowing mountain streams in rugged canyons. We call them ghylls and we love to go ghyll scrambling - climbing, sliding, jumping and swimming against the current!
We run half-day expeditions, around 3 hours in length, to Stickle Ghyll, a perfect example of Cumbrian canyon which cuts through the landscape in Langdale.
This location is a great introduction to the sport, suitable for beginners and children as young as 7 years old. This is because some of the trickier sections and obstacles are optional. For thrill seekers, the highlight is a 10-metre climb up a waterfall!
Navigating Stickle Ghyll is no walk in the park, so we will kit you out with thick wetsuits and gloves, helmets and lifejackets. Individuals and private groups are welcome (upon request). We promise a day full of adventures.
