We are a mobile operation, so we can set up the activity you're dreaming of in a location that suits you. If you're doing a watersport, we are spoilt for choice with the beautiful lakes of Windermere, Coniston, Ullswater and more within reach. On the other hand, if you want to do a 50-metre abseil, you’ll have to join us at the legendary Hodge Close Quarry.

We tailor the full programme to you - and not just in terms of location. In general, our activities are designed for groups of 4 or more people. Book with your friends, family, colleagues, etc., and we’ll build the experience around what you want, never mixing you up with strangers.

Adventure.Outdoors Canyoning is your ticket to the most off-the-beaten track locations in the Lake National District Park.

We’re not talking about the lakes themselves or even the fells and peaks that surround them, we’re talking about the canyons and gorges which connect the one with the other. In Cumbria, we call gorges ghylls, so our particular brand of canyoning is ghyll scrambling. It’s an authentic thrill ride!

To help you get stuck into the fast-flowing torrents and rocky surroundings of ghylls such as Stickle Ghyll and Church Beck, we provide protective equipment - wetsuits, helmets and lifejackets. We also work with highly experienced and attentive outdoor guides and keep our sessions exclusive, focusing on you and your group’s needs and preferences.

Our canyoning trips tend to last about half a day. The difficulty of the experience will depend on the conditions, which make every excursion different! We welcome newcomers to this sport, and teenagers and older children are able to join our groups too so long as they are accompanied by adults.

Adventure.Outside is your go-to if you want to have a Paddleboarding experience on one of the UK's most beautiful lakes.

We work mainly in the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, home of beauty spots like Widermere, Ullswater and Coniston. Paddleboarding on these lakes is almost a spiritual experience, characterised by peace, tranquillity and freedom. However, our goal is to personalise your adventure as much as possible, so if you want to experience SUP on a lesser known lake, including one outside the national park, we will be very happy to oblige.

We offer serene SUP, energetic sessions and tours that take you the full length of a stunning lake. All sessions are led by qualified guides who have a love for the sport, the surroundings and for delivering a quality service.

New in for 2024 are a fleet of brand new paddleboards. They’re high quality models that combine performance with usability, so you don’t have to be an expert to get on board! We also include two-piece wetsuits in the price of all of our activities which allow you to regulate your temperature and stay warm throughout the session.

We are situated near the Lake District, but we can take you to climb anywhere in Cumbria. We specialise in arranging half and full-day sessions, taking care of every detail to deliver a very personal experience. We work hand in hand with a professional staff, guaranteeing safe and fun climbing.

Families, groups and individuals are welcome. Your little ones can join us with adult company! Our climbing experiences are suitable for beginners and intermediate climbers. We provide all the equipment and instruction so you can enjoy the itinerary. We usually caterour sessions for groups of up to four people but feel free to be part of our rock climbing sessions if you have a large group.

We also blend climbing with abseiling! Can you imagine having a unique sight of the lakes and even other views of iconic places such as Cathedral Caves? You must join us to know what we are talking about.

At Adventure.Outdoors Abseiling, we’re passionate about the rocks of the Lake District National Park and we know the best places for rappelling.

Choose us if you’re looking for a thrilling adventure that demands care and respect, but doesn’t require you to be incredibly physically fit. Abseiling is essentially a negotiation with the landscape and gravity and provides some of the biggest adrenaline rushes that you can experience in the national park.

There are dozens of rocky crags and cliffs that can be abseiled now, but there are two that stand out among the rest. We have human activity, not natural forces, to thank for the first, Hodge Close Quarry. Once used for mining, this location now boasts some huge drops. But they’re not as high as the biggest abseils we know: Cathedral Caves, which are 150 ft high!

We provide all equipment for our abseiling and other adventures and tailor the experiences to you. You won’t be mixed up with strangers when you book with us because we want you to be comfortable and confident from start to finish.

Adventure.Outside Hiking is on a mission to get you out and about in the stunning landscape of the Lake District National Park.

Did you know that “hiking in the great outdoors” is becoming an increasingly common bucket list goal? If it’s on your list but you’re unsure about how to tick it off, let us help you. We are a team of highly experienced outdoor guides who know England’s most dramatic region like the backs of our hands.

Alfred Wainwright MBE made hill walking in Lakeland a national pastime and we are continuing his legacy. Although the mountains here aren’t as tall as those in other parts of the world, they can be just as treacherous. If you book a guided hike with us, we will take care of planning, make sure everyone is well prepared and adapt to events and conditions on the day.

But this is your excursion, so we put the power of choice in your hands. Our popular routes include Scafell Pike - in the day or as a night hike - but we can also summit other mountains or take a more leisurely stroll along lake shores and through dales.

Lake Windermere, Coniston Water, Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake, these are just some of the legendary lakes that lie between the highest peaks of England. Taking to the water in a Canadian canoe - that is, an open vessel propelled by single-bladed paddles - gives you a perspective on this landscape that’s hard to beat.

We have a range of canoeing activities that are designed to get as many people involved in this outdoor pursuit as possible, from short paddles while the sun goes down to full-day excursions from one end of a lake to the other. We are flexible with our locations, able to set up for an outing in dozens of different lakes in the national park and beyond.

Each and every one of our activities is led by an experienced, qualified outdoor guide and comes with safety equipment as standard. In this way, canoeing can be one of the best choices for groups with young children or inexperienced adventurers.
