Canyoning at Stoneycroft Ghyll (10yrs+), 3h

The Lake District National Park has exciting adventures waiting at every corner.

One of the best is canyoning, also known as gorge walking or ghyll scrambling. The most famous canyon in the park is Stoneycroft Ghyll which is in the Newlands Valley near Keswick.

With this activity, you’ll slide, jump, swim and splash to discover Stoneycroft Ghyll. You can embark on this extraordinary adventure with your family or friends, or even the team from work. Parties of 8 people are welcome.

Canyoning is an extreme sport, but it’s one of the more accessible ones. You don’t need previous experience to take on Stoneycroft Ghyll and we can take children as young as 10 years old on these excursions.

Equipment and a safety briefing will be provided before getting stuck in. You will need to bring a pair of trainers, a towel, swimwear, water and personal medication. A designated instructor will tailor this lesson to the needs of the group.
