Description of Nighttime Hiking Ascent of Scafell Pike, 5h
England’s highest peak is a tempting prospect for adventurers of all stripes.
As experienced mountain guides, we offer guided ascents of Scafell Pike (978m) that take place wholly or partially at night. They are aimed at two types of hiking party: those looking to do something different and maybe catch a spectacular sunset/sunrise and those completing the National 3 Peaks challenge. Bookings are for groups of 4 to 5 people.
The latter often involves summiting Scafell Pike at night between daytime ascents of Ben Nevis and Snowdonia, if the goal is to complete the challenge in 24 hours. Getting up and down this middle peak takes around 5 hours. We will only guide N3P groups who have a designated, non-hiking driver.
We will act as guides to you and your group, that is, we work to your needs and not the other way around. We usually meet in the National Trust Car Park at Wasdale Head but can discuss alternatives if you wish. We are also flexible with meeting times.
Some members of our team have 100+ ascents of Scafell Pike under their belts, so can rely on us to get you up and down safely. As this is a hike that takes place in the darkness, there is a minimum age of 14 years old in place.

Fixed Date bookings are non-refundable, except in cases of bad weather or issues with the provider. Bookings without a date or for gifting can be refunded within 14 days of purchase.
