Bring your children to North Tolsta on the Isle of Lewis and let them ride a horse along a beach of golden sands. Perfect for children under the age of 12, this is a beginner-friendly outing that all can enjoy.
We will meet at our riding centre above the beach of Traigh Mhòr and help everyone get ready, including supplying riding hats. If your children already know how to ride, we can set off as a group. If not, we can do a lead rein ride, where guides accompany the horse and rider on foot.
The route takes us down to a small stream which we paddle through to reach the sand. The views from the beach are so special, with breaking waves on one side, rocky cliffs on the other and 2 miles of sand in between.
The whole experience lasts 1 hour. Beach rides are available throughout the year but the availability is affected by tide times and weather conditions.
