Intermediate SUP Skills & Safety in Richmond 3h

Welcome to our Intermediate SUP Skills & Safety Session in Richmond! Enjoy this experience for 3 hours!

This sport is suitable for anyone who wants to improve while increasing their competence, safety, proficiency, and assertiveness on the water! It is perfect for those who seek to progress to independently guided journeys or solo paddling.

You will have shore-based training covering the fundamentals of safety, wayfinding, and route planning in the first hour. After that, you can practice paddling with and against a flow and try different paddling techniques as we go around the High Tide! Additionally, you'll learn more about river safety.

Before enrolling in this course, you must be an experienced paddler and have paddled with us on the River Thames beforehand. However, you can enroll in any of our other individual or group courses if this will be your first time kayaking with us!

Moreover, there is no need for specific attire, but please refrain from wearing jeans or cotton since cotton becomes quite cold when wet. Swimwear or standard quick-drying gym attire (shorts, leggings, a t-shirt, and fleece) will do in warm weather.

Our fully qualified instructors will provide you with a safety briefing and some on-the-ground instruction on the riverbank close to Richmond Bridge. They will also equip you with a buoyancy aid, paddle, and board.
