We are located on the outside of the Peak District and where we provide the youngsters great adventures and awesome facilities for learning and safe ventures benefiting all the natural space that the UK countryside has to offer. 

Throughout the valleys of Wirksworth and Ecclesbourne, all the schools´ and non-schools groups will encounter great spaced, greenery and rich history. the groups will discover and explore the sites of the old mine, mine shafts and kilns, fossils and also these great ventures!;

Our unique location offers the panoramic views that the Peak District and Black Rock has across! And gives the opportunity for schools to give the children a memorable residential programme and adventure experience in outstanding green spaces. The camps are suitable for Primary and Secondary schools, with a length of stay of 2 to 4 nights. 

We guide a series of stounding teamwork activities and give the tools to give the opportunity to the children to develop new abilities, great communication skills, capacities to solve problems and much more!

Welcome to Mount Cook Adventure Centre lake and river canoeing!

All our lakes give the best environment to provide the best introduction to this water sport. Our programmes offer the children to paddle on calm and shallow water, how to control their canoe and much more! 

All the safety gear and rest of equipment is provided and is also specifically sized for youngsters, just to make possible the maximum development is canoeing. The young participants will sit or kneel in their highly maintained open-topped canoe. 

With the guidance of a highly trained watersports instructor, the students will learn the basics and fundamental skills as stopping, going forward and going backwards and stern rudder. Each small group consisting of eight participants, the perfect quantity to provide the best instruction and safe watching. 

Canoeing at Mount Cook Adventure Centre is relevant to subjects like English and Physical Education and is suitable for Primary and Secondary Schools and Non-school groups.

Let your kid reach up to the sky with Mount Cook Adventure Centre Climbing!

A challenging but fun activity for the children, it will be a great opportunity to develop trust in others and most importantly, self-confidence. Each session will start with a speech consisting of safety briefing and techniques from the highly trained instructor. 

The young climbers will practice this awesome activity in our tower whilst is accompanied by their friends. Our climbing sessions are relevant to Physical Education subject and are suitable for Primary and Secondary Schools and Non-School groups. 

As a parent, you can company your children thanks to our Family Group package! Or, as a school, expand the knowledge of the children outside the four walls of a classroom. The programme and packages consist of a weekend getaway, minimum two nights.

We guarantee that the kids will enjoy great moments, will encounter memorable friends and will discover and explore our facilities throughout all our activities and games.

Welcome to Mount Cook Adventure Centre Archery! 

We tailor this very skilful and interesting sport which includes great skills for the groups of all ages! Although, we aim to primary, secondary schools and non-school groups.

During each session, games, competitions and a safety speech will be covered. Also, all the equipment will be provided and when that is covered, will be followed by a round of shots as a practice. Then, when each youngster of the small group feels comfortable with the abilities and techniques, the games can begin! 

Archery at Mount Cook Adventure Centre is relevant to the language English and courses of Physical Education. Also, this historical sport is suitable for children in primary and secondary education stage.

Take your kids to new heights with Mount Cook Adventure Centre High Ropes!

The high ropes course consist a combination of climbing, thrilling zip lines and much more! Tailored by highly certified instructors, the sessions go through safety briefing, tips and great techniques whilst having great fun! 

We offer different sections to satisfy the different groups and skills, each one lasting one and half hour. Just take a closer look at our offers!;

• Low Ropes Course: This activity provides the rope course sitting less than a metre off the ground along challenges and obstacles to developing problem-solving, teamwork, physical and communication skills. 
• Crate Stack: Consist of teams of two to four climbers; children must construct crates and the highest stack to get to the top.
• Gladiator Challenge: To pass the challenge and get to the final point, the participants will need to climb out Gladiator Wall!
• High All Aboard: The children will need to climb a telegraph pole to get to the top! Once the group of four is the top platform they must hold hands to lean out and go down. They will need to trust each other to pass the challenge! 
• High See-Saw: The team will need to climb our giant ladder. The teams will need to trust each other to ascend the structure, climbing and lifting on each other. 
• Trapeze: This is where the nerves are tested! Each kid needs to jump from a platform to catch the bar! 
• Traversing elements: Participants need to cross the inclined log to get to the other side and continue the challenge.  

Mount Cook Adventure Centre High Ropes is suitable for primary and secondary schools and non-school groups and is completely aimed at little kids!

Welcome to Orienteering at Mount Cook Adventure Centre! 

Our sessions are a great opportunity to introduce the youngsters to the outdoors and to be young explorers! Using a map, utilising the technique of reading it, they will navigate, explore and discover throughout our green surroundings. 

Teamwork skills, concentration and good communication skills are the basics to get to the finish point. We guarantee that every child feels accomplished when they finish successfully the challenge without the help of any adult or instructors. The sessions consist of teams competing with each other through games and races to get to the destination. 

The taught techniques are map reading, keys, scales and grids and are presented by one of our amicable and trained instructors. 

The orienteering activity is relevant to the subjects of English language and reading, Geography, Physical Education, Social, Health and Physical Education. It is also suitable for large groups, such as Primary Schools´ children and Non-School groups.
