The West of Ireland is home to beautiful coastline views and opportunities for adventure; at Bellacragher Boat Club, we want to share that with you!
We are a dedicated boat club that has been leading adventures and teaching people new skills since 2003 across Bellacragher Bay, which links Achill, Mulranny and Ballycroy.
We were created by Seamus Butler, a Claggan local and lifelong sailor with various qualifications and Brian Masterson from Owenduff, the visionary behind the club.
Our team consists of passionate people united to attract people of all ages, experiences and backgrounds with a shared love for sailing, powerboating and outdoor adventures.
We offer a range of courses and experiences with something for everyone of all ability levels in both powerboating and sailing, using our expertise to provide beginners and beyond with a new set of skills and a confidence boost.
All our sessions are more than just a fun adventure spotting stunning sights and enjoying thrills; there is an excellent education in more ways than one, with an insight into the area's history and some fun tales to make your time with us one you won't forget.
To offer our diverse service, we need a fleet to match the quality of our amazing team, which is why we have nine boats at our disposal.

At Bellacragher Boat Club, we love sailing and know you will too!
Sailing is our passion, and we wanted to spread that to the areas of Achill, Mulranny and Ballycroy by creating this boat club in 2003 that spans across the beautiful Bellacragher Bay that connects these places.
Seamus Butler is our head instructor and is a prime example of how dedicated our team is to teaching people of all ages and experience levels the freedom and wonder of sailing. As a seasoned dinghy sailor and Yachtmaster, Seamus is fully equipped to teach and guide all types of sailing courses.
Whether you are looking to start a new hobby or take your skills to the next level, we have the course for you to give you the skills and confidence you need to tackle the wild waters of the West of Ireland, and there aren't many more beautiful places to explore while doing it.
Sailing in the fresh sea air is so relaxing and stress-releasing that you might end up hooked on the exhilaration of gliding through the wind and visiting magical coves and breathtaking islands.
We always provide the ultimate sailing experience, so we can tailor your session to meet your desires by adding in some fun history lessons to make the time more worthwhile and guiding you to the local wildlife, and so with a bit of luck, you might spot the local seal and birds.

Powerboating is such an exciting activity, and there is nobody better equipped in Mayo to guide you than Bellacragher Boat Club.
Although we primarily run sailing courses which you should check out, our team of instructors are multi talented including one of our founders, Seamus Butler, who has years of experience and vast expertise as an advanced powerboat instructor.
As a local man from Claggan, Seamus has unique knowledge of historical tales and routes to the best sights, so you are in safe expert hands and will be constantly entertained.
No matter your experience, we offer you an exciting session that matches your abilities and will challenge you to make significant improvements, whether you want an introduction course or to gain your powerboating license.
Our courses can be completed in a sailing dinghy, small keelboat, or catamaran, so we are pretty flexible and offer various options to meet your needs.
All this powerboating fun takes place around Bellacragher Bay which guarantees you will see lots of stunning mountain views and attractions of the Northwest Coast.
