That's what we're all about at Norfolk Outdoor Adventures, an experience provider located in Martham Broad. This extension of the larger Norfolk Broads is a stunning area of wetlands, waterways and channels that’s fascinating to explore and impossible to forget.
We love our area and because it allows us to do a couple of the things that make us happy. The first is paddlesports. We’re fanatical about Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP), Kayaking and Canoeing and we can enjoy all of these to our hearts’ content on the Broads. The second is making people happy. We’re not selfish when it comes to paddling around Martham, so we welcome people of all walks of life to get involved!
We offer SUP, kayak and canoe hire and lessons, but we don’t stop at these predictable services. We’ve got some really unique activities in store for anyone visiting us. How about kayaking at sundown as the sky goes through a cycle of thousands of colours? Why not join us for a multi-day paddleboarding expedition that includes bushcraft and sleeping out? Or maybe you’d like to try the traditional Tahitian discipline of outrigger canoeing?

We’re on a mission to put paddleboards on the Broads!
That’s right, at Norfolk Outdoor Adventures, we’re passionate about Paddleboarding. The Norfolk Broads look as though they could have been designed for this sport, boasting endless channels, wide expanses of flat water and hidden secrets. We’re based on Martham Broad, allowing us to enjoy this paddleboarding paradise to the max.
But it’s not just standard SUP that gets us excited. We’re interested in all forms this sport can take, from simple paddling to racing, sunset sessions to overnight expeditions, SUP fitness to paddleboard geocaching. If we’ve missed something off the list, let us know and we’ll work out how to include it in our repertoire!
When we’re not on our SUPs, we might be out kayaking, canoeing or canoeing with outriggers - a disciple from Tahiti. We can’t spend all of our time on the water though, so we’re also to be found engaging in fitness activities on dry land, expanding our coaching capabilities, doing a bit of bushcraft, or enjoying a cup of tea and a biscuit.

What’s the best way to explore a world that’s covered by water?
At Norfolk Outdoor Activities, we think it’s Kayaking. These nimble watercraft are perfect for navigating all bodies of water, including rivers, canals, lakes, and the open sea. We have all of those within easy reach of our base on Norfolk’s Broads, specifically Martham Broad to the north of Great Yarmouth, giving us the opportunity for all kinds of paddling adventures.
We run kayaking excursions on Hickling Broad, Horsey Mere and the North Sea. We love kayaking at sunset and under the night sky. We organise training and coaching courses for the super keen kayakers. Of course, we also do beginner friendly sessions and kayak hire, because it’s our belief that everyone should have the chance to enjoy this wonderful watersport.
As well as kayaking, we offer a whole range of adventurous activities. On the water, we’re part of the stand-up paddleboarding revolution, a sport which we’ve introduced to thousands of people and which is incredibly enjoyable at our waterside location. Canoeing is one of our passions too, and we specialise in outrigger canoeing which is a practice developed by the indigenous inhabitants of Tahiti in the South Pacific. On land, we’re into trail running and endurance events, wilderness skills and overnight expeditions.

Norfolk Outdoor Adventures offers Canoeing experiences to transport you across the water and back in time. Canoes have been used by human populations all over the globe for generations and the utility and attraction of these boats is obvious as soon as you step into one.
Almost anyone can get the hang of controlling a canoe in a matter of minutes, at least on flat water. That’s not a problem for us as we’re located on the Norfolk Broads, Martham Broad to be specific, and we offer our canoes for rent here. Beyond standard canoeing, we are also specialists in outrigger canoeing, a tradition from Tahiti - an island in the Pacific Ocean - which involves a special narrow canoe with an extra flotation device attached by poles. It’s a fascinating discipline and much harder to find than regular canoeing- we’re the only provider of outrigger canoeing in the whole of East Anglia.
As well as specialists, we’re generalists. We love paddlesports of all kinds, from stand-up paddleboarding to kayaking on the broads and the open ocean. Ask us about our multi-day expeditions and bushcraft experiences, we can even tell you about a 1,000 mile river race that we’ve just completed in the Canadian and Alaskan wilderness!
