Description of Wessex Cave Club

Welcome to Wessex Caving Club

Formed in 1934, we are one of the oldest clubs in the country, as well as been one of the largest with over 250 members. We are a very active and friendly club and welcome new members, as well as non members who would like to come along and try caving with us. Our headquarters is in a village called Priddy, in the Mendip hills.

Our facilities include:

Our own purpose built centrally heated hut
Two mixed dormitories
Fully equipped kitchen
Changing room
Four showers
Drying room
Power washer for cleaning kit
A training tower
Members library
Tackle store
Common room

The club hut is open to all members as well as those that just want to come along and have a go.
