Located at the very heart of the Southern Uplands, where it is said the Sottish people fought against the Vikings in the XIII century, we use the best of natural resources to provide a great range of activities from kayaking to climbing. 

Our center was founded in 1999 by Roy and Sophia Gibson and, since then, we have achieved great recognitions such as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. We are also part of the most important sports associations like the British Canoeing or the Institute for Outdoor Instructors. This is part of our commitment to safe experiences and the highest standards. 

Our headquarters can be easily reached in the middle of Galloway Forest Park, a natural area of over 97.000 acres; Loch Doon and River Doon, which water comes from the uplands of the hills. 

In particular, we work at the famous Craigengillian Estate, where more than 3.000 acres are waiting for you to enjoy a piece of our country's history too. Did you know, for instance, that important writer and poet Robert Burns was born near this region? Thus, you can choose your favorite session and, at the same time, learn a little more about the background of this rich land, considered a national treasure.

Active Outdoors Pursuits Ayshire is here for you to have fun kayaking in the amazing lochs of this historical county that, back in the XIII century, was the battlefield between the Scots and the Vikings.

The natural resources that surround us make us one of the best companies in the region to enjoy watersports and, because of that, we have been praised and awarded with multiple prizes. To name a few, we could mention the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards, which has valued our hard work and excellency as outdoor activities providers. At the same time, we work for protecting the environment and we have been also been given the John Muir Award, a prestigious certificate about providing activities while protecting the land where we work. Our company was founded in 1999 by Sophia and Roy Gibson, two outdoor lovers who turned their passion into a way of sharing great adventures with others in the great land of Ayrshire county. As you may also know, our region has also had a strong attachment to water. Lochs are a common geographical feature and we use them to provide the greatest paddleboarding experiences. 

How can you get here? That's easy! We're located in Dalmellington, a town where Craigengillian Estate is. This XIII century historical building is used as our meeting point and, from there, we will take you to the venue where the activities are held. In particular, we talk about lochs like the Doon, which is bathed by the river of the same name. 

We are not a company that takes safety seriously only because we believe in the highest training of our instructors or because we hold the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority, a certificate is all about this issue; but also because we work with the best board manufacturers:  Aquadesign.

Active Outdoors Pursuits Ayrshire is also a cliff and waterfall adventure company. When we were founded by Roy and Sophia Gibson in 1999, we knew that we have to use the amazing Scottish geographical treasures that surround us and one of them is precisely our canyoning offer.

Dalcairney Fall is the venue where we'll be holding most of our activities, a nice place that is only a 45-minute walk from the stone Doon Bridge. However, to get to our headquarters, you must get to CraigengillanEstate, a 13th-century building, which is 60 minutes away from Glasgow and that you can reach taking the B743. 

What else should you know about our company? First of all, our hard work and our dedication have led us to win important prizes like the Duke of Edinburg's Award, which points us as one of the best outdoor providers of the regions. We also have a strong commitment to the training of our instructors and safety. Because of these, we work with the Institute for Outdoor Learning, where professionals get their skills and abilities improved.
