Saltburn Surf School

Welcome to Saltburn Surf School

We are a surf school based in Saltburn, North Yorkshire. We offer surf lessons and stand up paddleboard (SUP) from April to October, and between May and September we also offer evening lessons to make the most of those longer summer days.

We welcome all levels, from beginners to advanced, and also offer video analysis to help you improve your technique. We can cater for individiuals and groups, and are a great place for a stag or hen party, a corporate day out or a birthday celebration.

Our lessons typically last for around 2 hours, with some instruction on the beach and then time to practise in the water. You will be given a full safety briefing from one of our qualified and experienced instructors, and we will provide you with a board and a wetsuit.

Please note you need to be a minimum of 8 years old to surf with us, but there is not upper age limit. You also need to be able to swim at least 50m.

We have two locations for our SUP classes, as obviously the weather can affect where and when we can run the activity. We will decide on the morning which location to use, either Saltburn Beach in Saltburn By The Sea, or Preston Park in Stockton On Tees, whichever is safest and gives us the best conditions on the day.
