Take art class out into nature!
Have you got a budding artist in the family? Or maybe a watersports enthusiast? All are welcome on this kayaking and painting tour. We take groups of 5 with us, with a maximum of 3 children aged 5 to 17.
All kayaking and painting equipment is included in the price. We have single kayaks alongside double kayaks which are perfect for parents and children.
We’ll meet in Barrow upon Soar on the River Soar and go over safety information. Then we’ll launch our kayaks and paddle to an art studio set up on an island on a river. The art teacher will be waiting for us there and will lead a class that helps bring out the creativity of every participant.
The entire experience is around 2 hours long - 30 minutes of inspirational kayaking each way and one hour on the island. We include snacks and drinks as well, after all, you can’t be expected to create on an empty stomach.

Description of Kayak + Painting Tour on River Soar (18yrs+) 2h
Need some artistic inspiration?We’ll take you on a tour of the River Soar that will fill up your senses and get the creative juices flowing. Best of all? We’ll be travelling by kayak!
This two-hour experience starts in Barrow in Soar. We’ll make sure that everyone is safe and comfortable in their single or double kayak, then head off upstream. After 30 minutes, we reach an island where an open-air art studio will be set up for us.
As well as your guide on the river, you’ll have an art teacher to help you express yourself through the medium of painting. You’ll be surprised by what you can create in just one hour, then it’s back into the boats to return to base- but not before enjoying a few snacks and drinks!
Equipment is provided for both kayaking and painting, but no previous experience in either discipline is required. We can take groups of up to 5 people on each paddle and paint tour. Bring the kids by booking the price for under 18 year olds!
