Our "Canadian canoes" or open boats as they are otherwise known, provide the perfect opportunity to learn how to paddle. Stable and reliable, you will use a single paddle with another person paddling along with you so one of the greatest challenges will be learning how to work together as you paddle along taking in the natural surrounds on this tranquil river.

Our fully qualified instructors will teach you how to effectivly paddle while ensuring that every stays safe.

Our closed cockpit kayaks take just a bit more skill to control, but make for a thrilling experience. Our fully qualified instructors will take you out on the River Wye, teaching you everything you need to paddle along confidently as you and your group tour this beautiful waterway.

For those more confident kayakers looking for a more challenging experience we can introduce to you kayaking on white water, where you will definatley have to learn how to roll upright when the strong currents capsize you!

Outdoors@hay Rafting gives you the chance to put everyone in your group's design and construction skills to the test as you get out on the water in search of adventure.

In this rafting day on the waterways of Hay on Wye, we will give you water tight barrels, blanks of wood, rope, wetsuits and paddles. What you make out of it is up to you, but if you don't want to spend the day swimming then a sturdy and well constructed raft than can see everyone staying at least a bit dry would be a good idea!

You will be supervised through the construction phase on the water's edge and from the safety boat as you paddle across the rivers and through certain challenges, putting your ability as a team to the test. This makes for a fun day for groups of all shapes and sizes, from youth groups to corporate teambuilding days.

Join us at Outdoors@hay Orienteering for an exciting race that requires brains and speed in the north of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Orienteering is a race from checkpoint to checkpoint through the beautiful natural locations right on our doorstep. The race track is marked only on your map, so you will need to put all of the navigation skills we teach you into practice as you and your team find your way along the best route possible, pitting yourself in a battle of wits as well as speed against your friends, family and colleagues who are racing against you.
